This is a patient, beginner-friendly lesson to build on the basic Dutch Braid skill.

You will also be given access to a training video that recaps everything you have learned which can be watched back as many times as you need.
Requirements:
A short video to show you doing a Dutch Braid will be requested before booking to ensure this course is the right fit for your current skill level.
Over 12’s only (under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times)

Meet Sarah — founder of Bonnie Braids, mum of two, and Mermaid Braid specialist. What started as a fun Halloween hairstyle idea quickly grew into a passion and business built around colourful, confidence-boosting braids. After years of refining her technique and creating hundreds of Mermaid Braids, Sarah now shares her signature “Braids With Colour” methods through personalised training designed to help others learn with confidence.

Do I need Braiding Experience?
Yes — you should already know how to do a basic Dutch braid before joining any of the in person or online classes.
What happens if I struggle during the lesson?
Each lesson is designed specifically for you and your skill set, so nothing is rushed and we move at your own pace. Sarah is there to help you overcome the sections you may find difficult.
Do I need to bring a model?
No you don’t - all training is done on Doll Heads
How long does it take to master Mermaid Braids?
The basics of this skill can be picked up quickly and that is the aim for the Begin with Colour In-Person Lesson. It will be your practice at home that improves the skill over time. You also have the opportunity to attend an Improve With Colour Lesson with Sarah if you feel you need more support.
Can I pay in instalments?

What’s the difference between the Online Masterclass and the Begin With Colour 1-2-1 Lesson?
The Online Masterclass is a live demonstration designed to introduce you to the Mermaid Braid technique and help you understand the process.
The Begin With Colour 1-2-1 Lesson is a personalised hands-on training session where Sarah works directly with you, provides live feedback and correction, and helps refine your technique throughout the lesson.
